Just because I can doesn't mean I should...

The more I declutter my home and simplify my stuff...

... the bigger my Portland Grand gets.

Clearly I have no self control on the paper front.

And my Filofax no longer snaps.

On a personal size binder with 30 mm rings, that's saying something. I can't be alone in this dilemma; there seems to be an ever growing interest in older Franklin Quest binders with rings the size of tires.

Over the last few days I've looked for binders with rings just shy of two inches but I'm afraid I'll just end up with the same situation ... ten pounds of lunacy in a five pound bag.

For me a new binder is rarely the answer because the problem is usually me. Bigger rings would not help because  I'd just be lugging around more lunacy. Just because I can, doesn't mean I should and it's time to reign in this paper monster.

Wish me luck, I'm going in.

Ah, I am one of those people with giant rings in a Franklin Covey Quest! I can soooo undeerstand what you mean, but until two major projects are done, I cannot slim down and move back to my Saffiano!

I'll be staying tuned to how you are doing. Good luck, Tracy!

Can fully sympathise with this, have the same problem. Good luck!

Thanks to Maryanne Moll's video of her compact FC with 1.75" rings, I'm now obsessed with them too.

It is madness, I tell you. :-)

My planner has 1.5" rings (Franklin Culty) and is always fullfullfull. 10/15/13, 9:09 PM

I have a friend who used a Classic FC while I used a Compact. We were comparing one day and she pointed out that the Compact kept things manageable.

I think we expand to fill the space we have so definitely, bigger rings will just mean more stuff in your planner.
