The Basket Chair

Basket making is a very old craft and basket chairs date back to the Roman Empire (the year 27 BC).

Basket chairs are made from twigs, shaped on  rods. They were very popular in Victorian times. They could be padded with cushions or upholstery so they were used in houses and gardens.

They were very popular in the 1960's and 70's.  I kinda love the design!

We have a collapsible version for Col's dorm room and we LOVE it when he comes home for the summer. It's really comfortable.
