The Crazy Suburban Mom: What are you jonesing for from JetPens? I might get it for you...

What are you jonesing for from JetPens? I might get it for you...

I visit JetPens daily and I know that's a little obsessive but I can't help it.    It's so much fun to look at all the pens, paper, clips, tabs, and find stuff I didn't even know existed.

Who knew there were little parakeet index labels? I didn't till I found and bought them.

A typical visit involves checking out the new stuff first.  One second I'm happily clicking  and the next, Office supply nirvana hits me in the form of a blueberry scented pen and I can't live another second without calling it mine.

If you've been to JetPens,  you know what I mean.  If you haven't gone I'll give you a reason to go...

JetPens contacted me this week. I saw the email and, no lie, I was afraid to open it; thought for sure my days as an anonymous stationary stalker were over. Figured they finally slappled me with the Office-supply-protective-order I've been expecting.

And yes, the jig is up but instead of barring me they gave me $25 dollars to use any way I want.

Note to people with an obsessive office supply compulsion: I decided  to share.

Go to JetPens, find something we both must have and comment to this post.  It could be one thing or many, my beloved scented pen up there only cost $1.10; so $25 dollars leaves lots of wiggle room.

Tell me why we must have and are going to love said fantastical item  to bits and why we can't go another second without it  in our lives.  At the end of the week I'll go over the  comments and see what thing or things make me twirl around and clap my hands.

I'm not using a random generator for this but  I'm going to run the answers by Ventura because he's a very fun loving guy.  Here he is at our last party, wearing one of his toys on his head for laughs.

Ultimately I'm picking the winner because we are getting the same thing, or things.

I'll accept comments for a week so get yours in by April 14, 2012 at 9pm EST. Open to anyone, I'll ship worldwide.

Johnny Depp once said, "Tomorrow it'll all be over, then I'll have to go back to selling pens again."   Doesn't sound bad to me, Johnny.  Pens pretty much rock all the time... movies only sometimes.

Seriously? You set me loose on a website that sells office supplies...pens, in particular??? You have no idea the danger you've set free!

I spent a good twenty five minutes at the site (and would have spent more, but alas...the kids needed me) and I fell in love with these: I love my Millennium markers and use them for everything, but sometimes I like something a little thicker than the fine point on those. These look like they'd be right up my alley and I imagine they'd look lovely filling up your Filofax! :) Love the colors, love the tip, just love them! :)

You and I cannot go another second without the lovely pen and pencil bag to hold all of our most precious pens and pencils.

My children have pen cases, so why don't we? We can keep all of our writing instruments in one place so we are not searching high and low to find a pencil to write a grocery list or a pen to sign a permission slip. We will search no more!

Like I need any further encouragement to skulk around Jetpens!

After I loiter in the pen/ink section, I head over to the Asian office supply section: - cute little note pad that looks like it would fit in a Filo card slot. word book - don't know what I'd use it for, but it has potential! - cute! I have the flags (not these double-sided ones) and I love them. They make me smile to see them peeking out from the pages of my Filos. -
a paper clip binder clip hybrid
Midori dog paper clips (too bad they weren't gh!) I have the pig, whale, penguin ummm and the turtle!
cute little Jetpens notebook. I'm sure we ALL need one of these, just for the cute factor. -
Preppy! - groovy looking fountain pen

I'm sure ANY of these would enrich our stationery lives!

$25 to spend freely on, it's heaven! I started thinking we should get more stuff to decorate our Filos, and it ended being exactly $25! It's fate :)
So, to start, you really got me interested in using decorative tape. I loved how you used it to repunch your Martha dividers. I really like the Dailylike Fabric Tape - Wild Flower - Sky Blue ( There is also the Nichiban Word Play Children's Tape - Animal Series, that's just so 'kawaii' ^^. I would love to see that Seal on my day's to do list! (
I continue with the 'nature' theme : have you seen this sticky notes?? How adorable! Leaf-it Memo Note Set(
And finally, we really really need penguin paper clips. Like really. (
Midori D-Clip Paper Clips ,

So, what do you say? Ready to redecorate our Filos together??

PS: i love because they always have a lot of different pictures for each item -- very useful!

I've been waiting for a chance to get these from JetPens.

I bought the same blue Miffy pen on my last Jet Pens Spree so next in my list (and hopefully yours) is this set: There's a review on it I've bookmarked that tells you what individual miffy pens are needed to round out a full set of possible colours. :)

I love when I find someone that has the same affliction as me. I am an absolute geek over pens and stationary and is my neighborhood crack den. The only thing that prevents me from the daily virtual stalking is the temptation is too great, I’m unemployed and I really need to spend my unemployment check on my bills. I do have a wish list started and as soon as I hear “You’re Hired!”, I’ll celebrate with $25 or more of stuff. (Gotta get to the Free Shipping minimum!)

I will say that on a bad day, checking out JetPens’ New Arrivals puts me in a much better mood. I can click the “Wish List” and my troubles seem to melt away. Anyway, the pen I can’t wait to get is the Uni-ball Power Tank Smart Series Ballpoint Pen (preferably in Pink). I keep a pad and a few pens in the car so I can jot down notes quickly while I’m on the go. But I absolutely HATE it when I grab a pen and it doesn’t work for the first few scratches. I’m indenting the paper and hoping, I can read it later. This Uni-ball pen however works in extreme temperatures and because of the internal compressed air pressure, it should work until the last drop of ink is used up.

I hope you are intrigued enough to get us both this Uni-ball pen, but if not, it will stay on my wish list until my next order!

A haiku entry:

It is nice to know
That people like me exist:
Office supply nerds.

A few things missing from my pencil case (also purchased from JetPens) are:

- a pair of scissors (

- a nice mechanical pencil (

- MOAR pens (

Funny, I just made my JetPens wish list yesterday ;)
Here's one of my must haves;
I have a sky blue one and I fell in love with it instantly <3. I'm using it exclusively for my journaling (:

I love JetPens--have only been using them for about a month--my favorites are the UniBall signo silver and white gel ink pens for writing on and embellishing handmade cards--love the way the ink flows!

Jetpens has an amazing inventory! You'd be hard-pressed to find stuff you DON'T like.

Yay, another writing instrument appreciator!

I think we both need an auto lead rotation mechanical pencil ( My first reaction: Wow, that exists?! My second reaction: Finally!! If you've ever used a mechanical pencil, I'm sure you know about how the lead tends to build up a sharp point. And then you get uneven lines or broken lead. This solves it by rotating the lead every time you lift up your pencil from the paper. Even if you don't use pencils, I'm sure you have to admit that's pretty cool.

The must have item is a toss up between the Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen (in white). Unique styling with a sporty look makes this the go to pen to write with flourish.

The other choice is the more affordable Pentel EnerGel X Metal-Tip Retractable Gel Ink Pen. This pen is simply fabulous. It's one of the best gel pens I've ever used - deep black ink that just glides like silk with no drop-outs.

You live in Jersey!!
I used to live there also--in the mid ' 90's I lived in Rockland County NY, and Mahwah in 1999, 2000. When I quit my job in 2001 in downtown NYC, I missed 9/11 by 2 months. I worked 2 blocks away from there.
Love the malls, but hated the Jersey Turnpike!
Great Blog!
