A tale of three planners...

About a week ago I gave up all hope that my beloved Filofax (and pens) would show up and started using a Moleskine...

To accommodate my need to write...

And be randomly artsy.

As usual, no planner is ever perfect (although that particular  Moleskine situation was going really, really well) and I found my self pining for something ... Else.

I considered a new Filofax but a new binder  plus replacing the refills was cost prohibitive.

Which brings me to this lovely...

The Midori Traveler's Notebook

I've drooled over these for  years but having a Filofax already, I didn't want to spend the money.  Plus they weren't that available.   As luck would have it these beautiful Japanese jewels are much easier to come by now and starting one from scratch is less then trying to start a Filo (I know there are cheap ones but I didn't lose a cheap one and don't want a cheap one now).

Midori Traveler's Notebooks straddle being a journal, a planner, and a notebook; depending on what inserts you buy and I had a Amazon credit that covered the entire purchase.

The leather is lovely, the paper De-Vooon!  The whole shebang  is understated quality, unmatched and they get better with age.

It's tall ( A5 tall),  but narrow when closed and it has elegance for days.

Over the week-end I found four designer purses at a house sale , smaller then I normally use but my Midori isn't as bulky as a Filo so no problem.

Everything fit in the Coach bag and all was good with the world of planners....

Cut to this morning I was talking to Ben.  He was in the recliner, reclined - He'd just come back from school and was eating something.  I was at the computer EMAILING THE GRAND HOTEL TO ASK IF THEY'D FOUND THE FILOFAX.  I hadn't done that.

I had ripped the house apart but hadn't asked if they had it because it had contact info inside.    I hit send and turn around to see the Filofax and no, I am not kidding pinned under the recliner.

My jaw hit the floor.

I grabbed the thing like it was The Ghost of Filos past and ran upstairs with it so I could measure it against my purse...

And yeah, too big.  Nice purse though right?   And then I thought - Where. The. Heck. Was. That. Thing..... Well, maybe I didn't bring it to Cape May....  but look.

A Grand Hotel pen...

I am at a loss.  I can't imagine where it's been.  I looked under that chair a million-million times already....  I've been sitting here an hour trying to figure the whole thing out.

Maybe she's just acting like she doesn't care because she's been stashing it everywhere you've already looked to drive you crazy.
