Small steps to a better me drizzled with honey and almonds

I need to refocus on a little something called my  health.    I've had to rethink a lot of things since I posted about my Vitamin D level (which was all but non-existent).  P.S. That's not drama for the sake of  poetic license, my level was 11 ( twice that is still a severe deficiency).

How did THAT happen?

(That was me asking myself, How did THAT happen.)

I do that a lot.

I came up with  all sorts of reasons - Dieting for a year and a half, stress ... All manner of random fa la la life threw at me but  I've asked around - Everyone who had a level done had a low level; it's epidemic. Who knows how it happened because it's happened to everyone.

I take  Vitamin D now and my level will be re-checked next week but I've talked to my doctor, that's not enough.  Whenever my level creeps back up just taking vitamins is only part of the equation, I have to change the way I eat.  Healthy, like.  You know, pay attention to what I'm doing beyond my normal, Is it low calorie?  Do I want it?  Can I cover it with melted cheese?

I have to consider if food will contribute something to my overall well being besides having a  rockin' delish factor.

And hey, don't get me wrong - I'm all for rockin' delish.

So when Mom Central asked if I wanted to participate in the Dannon Small Steps to a Better You Blog Tour, I said yes I need to do this.

The campaign is about small steps meaning big changes (PERFECT!)  and this is how they describe it:  Temptations are around, take small steps to help manage them. That's why we're giving you tips to live a healthy lifestyle, one small step at a time. To jump-start your healthy lifestyle even more, we're giving you the chance to win free groceries for a week, month, or year!

Sounds great, right?  The only thing better then reaping the rewards of better eating  is reaping those rewards for FREE! So pop on over and enter you only have until February 28.

And if you've never tried Greek Yogurt...

It's the best stuff ever.

My favorite is Greek yogurt with honey and a sprinkle of slivered almonds.

Also guys, let me know if you have anything to share.  I wouldn't have considered my diet unhealthy but surprise, surprise - Clearly it was woefully inadequate.  Would love tips to up my healthy!

I think our environment sucks a lot of vitamins and minerals out of us and the foods we eat. I'm not sure you are all to blame here. Just try and eat healthy and add vitamins from there. I know for me, every single day is a new adventure in this old bod and navigating what is best for me is proving to be quite the challenge. You aren't alone in your battle.
