A break from life...

And now a break from life for some virtual shopping 'cause sometimes I just need a break from laundry, taking out the garbage and running after Ginger with the pee-pee spray.

My love affair with J. Jill continues and we are now going steady so J. ( we are on a first name basis and are going to dinner and a movie this week-end) sent me the new catalog.

I might even be willing to hand wash that I love it so much.

And look, at the Pure Jill stuff.

I love it, I could sleep in this stuff...

Not that I would sleep in it...

Okay, I'm lying....

I totally would sleep in it. But I'd so wear it out.

If I went anywhere that involved leaving.

And they still might have my favorite purses, ever.  Something about their bags.  And these be still my 12 step purse addicted heart are on sale...

And now back to the pee-pee spray...

Oatmeal going up hill in February

The bottom of my sink is a mess.  The white fiberglass has worn off so even though it's clean, the bottom looks like a healing bruise; all manner of off-yellows and tans with some odd greenish blues thrown in.

On the 23rd I was over at Amazon.com and saw this sink mat:

It's silicone,  looks like polished river stones - and some can be cut out for the garbage disposal's mouth - and it's the sameish color as the ugly bottom of my sink so it will blend with it artistically.

I had a credit with Amazon (and even though the shipping was half the price of the item) I bought it.  It was sold by The Storage Store through Amazon but I checked their profile,  shipping policy (ships next business day) and the delivery estimate - Maybe even the 27th (tomorrow! yay!)...  and went with it.

That was Monday, the 23rd.  A business day.

Tuesday, the 24th was a business day too, still said shipping soon.   Wednesday?  Yeah.  Business day still shipping soon which meant it hadn't shipped and I also couldn't cancel cause it's oh what was that?  Shipping soon.

So I wrote and told them that I ordered despite the HIGH (WAY-ROBBERY) shipping ($4.95 on an $8.49 item) because their shipping policy indicated it would be shipped Tuesday.  It's Wednesday so, what's up?

You guys know how much I like my emails from customer service.  Tell me it's out of stock.  Tell me it ships from the company, not you.... Tell me the shipping guy was out sick. Tell me the lunar eclipse over Bulgaria caused the coffee maker not to work and you can't ship without your coffee but.... Don't.  Don't tell me canned garbage that doesn't come close to answering what I asked.  Here's the response:

Thank you for your recent order.  We have received your order and confirmed that is currently in our processing stage. Please expect this order to ship within the next business day. You will receive a UPS tracking number or US Mail confirmation once your order has shipped.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you again.

Further questions?

What information did you provide me that I didn't already know?  That I ordered it?  Check.  That it's in the processing stage?  Check.  That I expected it to ship within one business day?

Check cause I knew that on Tuesday, check for Wednesday and Check it's Thursday and it still says shipping soon.

I think Amazon.com should change Shipping Soon to  Shipping slow as oatmeal going up hill in February wearing 6 inch heels and sporting a bad attitude, by the way.  Further questions?

Yeah, what was I thinking?

Weekly Weight Watcher Update Mindfully

I haven't done a Wednesday Weight Watcher update in a while and I like to keep you guys in the loop.

Today was interesting because I dropped a group of pounds due to me being sick and I got the usual way to go's and how did you do it's you get at Weight Watchers when you lose which is why I don't normally announce my losses.  I didn't this time either, a few people just heard the weigh in gal way to go me.

I've been doing Weight Watchers for over a year now and how you do it isn't a big mystery really.  C'mon.  Face it we all know how.  Losing weight is math.  Kinda.

But it's also not about the food.  And still, it's all about food.  And as Geneen Roth the author of Women, Food and God says,  The world is on your plate.

It's a great book and maybe the hardest thing I've read; she's got retreats and workshops and if I was able, I'd do them all. Over and over.   Geneen's not about the Weight Watcher thing and I get that but I'm learning from everywhere.

According to Weight Watchers I'm pretty close to goal.   I asked my Doctor for a goal she'd be happy with which is higher then Weight Watchers goal that I don't think I could maintain for more then a minute and a half  maybe for one Sunday in October on a leap year.

But I've made peace with the goal thing.  I've watched people aggravate over point two pounds week after week.  I only lost point two.  I just gained point two.  Fretting about ounces.  Quitting (!) over what amounts to the weight a pat of butter   A few months ago I decided to let that business go and make reaching goal about what I do every day.

And goal is eating when I'm hungry, stopping when I'm not and trying to eat what I really want.  I don't wrap myself in a knot about buffets or cheesecakes anymore.   That foodganza of a buffet five years ago August is not why I was huge, it was a pattern of overeating all the time.

I will over eat again, there will be buffets, there will be cheesecakes, mac and cheese happens.  It's the mindless eating that sucked me in.  The eating instead of feeling, instead of living.

If you haven't read that book by Geneen Roth, check it out. If you've read her other stuff and you're saying - Oh I've read her other stuff.  Yeah, me too but this one is different in a way I can't quite put my finger on.  It cut though my ability to distance myself from the material...  I can't explain it really.

Cuisinart winner...

After looking over the entries, conflabbing with Ginger about doubles, taking out a few past time, any that didn't go with the flow (with the rules, I mean) the winner is...

Janiss  who maybe will make kitty snacks for Sparkle Cat and maybe some Guitar-Shaped cookies for Brian?  On second thought, maybe Brian will be making his own cookies now that I think about it...

Anyway, Janiss - email me girl!  I need your address...

Cluck

So life's going well and SLAM! The hostess from the restaurant of life barrels in, Stress? Party of two.

And the next thing you know you're sick as a dog and your dog, well your dog really is sick as a dog.  And it all falls apart from there.

At the end of the week (week!) you've lost eight pounds and you can't quite grasp that so you know it's somewhere in your house and,  oh.  Your house. Well, your house is what my kid and his friends used to say in high school because they couldn't say the other thing.

A fuster cluck.

So yeah,  your house is just a major cluck which is such a shame because it was just so clean but at least it's hiding that eight pounds you just lost.  Somewhere.  In a pile of laundry maybe?  Or a dish on the coffee table?

Or maybe that eight pounds is in those socks on the stairs?   I don't know where the eight pounds I lost is but if I clean up and I find it do you think it will latch itself back onto my ass?

PS - Ginger is much better and thank you everyone.  I gave her a kiss for every comment I got about her!

Weekend round up, Ginger, Steriods, Last day to win a Cuisinart

A tough, tough week end.

Ginger had to go to the vet and I didn't think she was coming home.  I don't know what happened but she was restless and just, odd.  Clingy and whimpering.  She didn't sleep much Friday night and kept moving from place to place.

The vet thought she either hurt herself or had Lyme which was the farthest thing from my mind.  Her Lyme was negative and he sent her home with some anti-inflammatory meds.  She was standing at the vets and seemed better and he said she might be better by that night, and she was.

I don't know what happened.   I'm just so grateful.  Last night she was better and today she seems normal.  I don't know what today would have been like if I lost her.

And as for me, this cold/illness/lung mess has just kicked my butt from here until a week from Thanksgiving.  I've been trying to not fill the prescription for the steroids but Uncle, already.  I just sent my kid to the pharmacy with it.

When ever I get up the get up and go to get up and go get it I expect to feel much better.

One more day to enter!
