A blog Tiara for Tara

blog tiara

I haven't given out a Blog Tiara in while but there's a new blog  I've been
reading called Scarborough Seashells  and I've been having the best time
visiting there.  Tara does cooking and lots
of vintage fun but she does something else too...

Take a look at this...

Beach glass, shell and silver...   OMG, right?

Beach glass and pottery shards - I love this one!
Available here

Pottery pieces and beach glass.... Isn't the teal color amazing?
On Etsy

I love shells, see this one here

Go visit Tara at Scarborough Seashells you will love her blog.

In case anyone's wondering and to make a full disclosure - sheesh -  I just love beach glass stuff!   Tara doesn't even know I'm posting this and swiped - I'm mean ...posted the pictures of her fabulous beach jewelry here.  But Tara, if you mind I will take it down.

A lot like being in the dressing room with the curtain open...

I guess everyone noticed I changed up my blog yesterday.   I've been thinking about it for quite sometime because I visit a lot of blogs and they all look so chic while mine looked shabby... But not chic.  Lately, I'd made some minor changes through blogger but they were all pretty meh, or worse.

I started looking around for free templates because I only had about twelve bucks in my checking account.  No really, twelve.  And twelve doesn't buy a really spectacular web design or hosting.  So, I looked around to see what twelve would buy me and much like when I bought my first car, I was disappointed.   My father referred to my first car, a Le Car, as 25 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag (A direct quote people - you know I don't normally four-letter it here but it was totally necessary to the story) until it was totaled in a seven mile an hour collision.

Sometimes you find diamonds

I was at a fabulous estate sale last summer put together by a family. I really like those because more and more estate sales (in my area, anyway) are being managed by antique dealers.

I don't see this as a problem as much as a conflict of interest. See, more than once I've gone to sales on the last day hoping for good prices only to overhear the people running the sale discussing.... No, not discussing but actually kind of giddy about how the leftover stuff would be going into their shop. An estate sale is for the benefit of the family giving it not a bonanza for the the people they hire.

More and more, I see ridiculous prices on things and when I ask if they will take less, No. In those cases the sales are almost always given by dealers.

With retail shops.
