Grab your babies and run, the horror the horror....

So who's doing that Fridge Makeover with me because I have something to report.

I am a nut about expiration dates.  And I don't mean just careful, I mean bring on the OCD meds obsessive about out of date food.  In fact I frequently bring food to the customer service departments at grocery stores because I check everything before I buy it.  I assume they want to know as much as I do although the fact that's its on the shelves makes that sort of unlikely but whatever.

So when I got to step one part two...

Remove everything inside, and perform a “freshness audit,” throwing away anything that is passed its prime (make sure to check expiration dates, especially on infrequently used products.)

Yeah it's going slow, I know... and found this...

and this...

and omg, this (and I know none of these pictures are good but by now I was just trembling with out of date terror.)

I was horrified.

No.  Horrified doesn't even describe it.  I was pretty much all bag up this fridge in a Bio-Hazard bag,  SELL THE HOUSE, and grab the baby and run cause this place is going to have out of date cooties FOR. EVER.

Although perhaps if I was properly medicated a new fridge might (might) be enough.

So.  I hope you all are doing the ICBINB Fridge Makeover with me so you don't have to grab your babies and run, too.  The directions are right HERE where I question whether the green stuff in the deli drawer is new cheese or old meat.

What are you waiting for?  Go!

And for anyone who's doing it what horrors are you finding.  Please tell me, it's not just me....

I do that to my fridge every payday so it's usually under control!

You totally crack me up!!
Since I have my fridge jammed full of greens & vegetables, I sometimes find a bag with a lot of nasty 'liquid', because the bag's been hidden for a long time!!
That grosses me out and makes me mad, because it means there's a big trail of liquid all over my floor, as I carry it, (with me screaming), to the trash!!
But my biggest freak-out is with expired medications!
Have a great week,
gabriele

I think we do that regularly, but I'm afraid to go check...

Oh honey, one time I was going through my pantry and found a box of something that was TWO YEARS past the use by date! Yikes! That tells me I've gotta go through things more often.
