More resolutions...

Ah, the other resolutions...

I'm actually still working on them because I don't want them to be fly-by-nighters..

So far I have...

1. Mail the apron for Miss Vonlipi (and we even have which one nailed down so I'm getting closer every day. I'm thinking Monday.)

2. The crapgasmic food fest is over. Oh, what I time I had.

3. Keep a better handle of the thrifting so I am not buying things only to have turn around and sell them at a loss. There is nothing thrifty about that at all.

4. The clutter business. I have actually made a bit of movement on that front by listing somethings I've been 'meaning to' list on eBay and etsy for quite some time. Over the last few days I've been trying to gather and sort (or as the military says, divide and conquer) the things I have into:

A. Keep
B. Sell
C. Donate
D. Garbage
E. Dunno yet

And one more...

F. What was I thinking when I even brought this in my house?

Under F. is this Vintage Girl Scouts Brownie beanie I got a few months ago. See, my original thought was one of my son's friends would like it. She wears fun things sometimes but she put it on and my son was all, HAHAHAHAH! You look like a fruit!

And not the Un-PC calling someone that, an actual fruit because the beanie made her look very much like she was wearing a pumpkin on her head because of the...

And they couldn't stop laughing at the stem she'd sprouted.
But I'm thinking they were really laughing at me.

So I leave the room and go, Oh, well. I'll eBay it, not
knowing they go for less than I paid. Fail. Huge fail.

This is the thing I totally want to avoid in the New Year because what in the world will I do with a hat that makes you look like you're sprouting a stem anyway?

The other things are really so much more mundane and I'm working hard to come up with a cohesive list...

Oh, that beanie brought back some memories! But I do not remember mine having the little white embroidered figure on it (I was a Brownie in the late 60s, so that one must be very vintage!)

There was a Girl Scout Store on 5th Avenue and it was one of the high points of 1968 or '69 for me to go there and get a Girl Scout doll (I hope I can find it, that is if it was kept, because that must be a vintage treasure, right? Right?)

I need to declutter too but all my stuff is in that I Dunno pile.

Sounds like you're on a roll!

I can see the attraction to the hat - it is kind of cute. Sometimes cute doesn't cut it though - if it's just going to hang around.

I think I'm going to freecycle something that has been in my garage for a couple of years. Two retro red metal flecked vinyl beauty salon chairs. Really cool with tack trim. Heavy buggers because they have cast iron bases. My husband and I have had many arguments over them. Time to let them go. Breathe, breathe, breathe.....

I hear you on the buying things I don't need! I am fairly frugal but I'm going to try to do even better this year.

if it's vintage...throw it on etsy!

Oh my gosh I remember wearing one of those stupid little beanies ages ago. Perhaps that beanie could be made into something else. I don't know, just a thought.

I really like your pile names.

I think I'll give it a try... worried about the dunno pile...that one would fill up fast on me...might end up with most of my house in a "dunno" box.
