Vintage thingies thursday with a confession...
I love visiting everyone on Vintage Thingies Thursday.
Colorado lady has some way cool china and so do a lot of people that participate. I always comment pretty much the same thing - Don't give me ideas! I do not need one more thing to collect!
Meaning china. But you know...
I was looking at my mugs the other day...

I found those Syracuse China dinerware mugs at a thrift shop and couldn't resist.
Would you look at that 'G' on the inside? At least I think it's a G....
And these plates ... I mean c'mon...

Because OMG, they are Syracuse China in the Nordic pattern and do you know how much they cost on eBay?

And um, there was a mug and a few bread plates that day too...
And the Syracuse china pickle/relish plates...sigh.

I'd actually listed these on eBay once and got no bites. Can you believe it?

Oh, those too... Retro heaven I tell ya.

The mugs are unmarked but I think they are
50's Cannonburg pottery in the temporama pattern.

Came home with four until I washed them and than there were three....
Of course, since than I've been afraid to use them but haven't sold them
yet either. I need use them or not, already.
That's the trouble with collecting things you love. You're afraid to ruin them.
Don't know anything about the plates except....

That....
So, about now I'm rethinking my theory about not collecting china.
Happy Vintage Thingies Thursday Everyone!
Love,
An apparent china collector
p.s. I've decided to sell some of it (here)
or over in the eBay widget on the right

I don't collect china. Even if I see something I like, I don't have space for it.
Some patterns and/or colors grab me. Love the blues in the mix.
Living it up at Lakewood,
Cindy
Like Postcardy, I don't have the space to collect china. I only own a few tea cups and saucers. I too am partial to blue!
I love dishes and grew up with one plate of the nordic pattern. My family laughs because I fondle dishes. In a museum you will find me in the dish section....even at the smithsonian.
Ooooh. I like that Nordic pattern.
Well, they are pretty worth collecting! LOL! You have some great pieces! I actually don't collect much at all - I like lots of different things! LOL!
at leasat it's not boontonware! my first set of dishes was the melmac from the tent sale in boonton!

I love the cup with the green scalloped edge. Purty!
oh those little relish plates...how cute are those!?!
happy holidays to you~~

I think those last coffee cups are my favorite! I never think of collecting china, I wonder why?
definitely retro, brings back memories........
Great colors on that retro china!
Happy VTT,
Jo
OMG! I don't need other things to collect....you evil temptress !!! LOL
I love the Nordic and Retro heaven patterns!
I'm especially loving those pickle/relish trays.
Thanks everyone and yes, I don't need another thing to collect either! That is my problem! Which is why after looking at this I listed some of it on ebay...and tomorrow probably some buttons on etsy.
You really can only keep so much, or so I hear :)
I'm really loving the retro look of the china. I have never been a big collector of china although I see so many beautiful patterns. Good luck selling it on ebay.

I love old plates, bowls, cups, etc.I've seen a lot of those patterns you've shown today.
Most of us have always had something we collected. Yours is china, and that is not bad. I love dishes and glassware, even though I do not need anymore. I enjoyed seeing what you shared today. Happy you dropped by my place.
great china pieces....the cups are great! Happy VTT!
I voted!! Hope I picked yours. I love your china. I once passed up a set of the Cannonsburg pattern, have kicked myself since! Thank you for visiting junkblossoms. Please visit often. Merry Christmas!
they're all gorgeous..especially the ones with retro designs :)
I LOVE USA made china. I look for it everywhere. You have such a great start with the retro style. I think you have a new collection in the making :-)
