Cape May
(Mostly) Wordless Wednesday
Every year, in the fall, I go to Cape May, New Jersey.
It's empty. The stores have closed, the season's over...
It's empty. The stores have closed, the season's over...
I go to take pictures...
I love this time of year in Cape May.
The dawn...
The night is very cold; sharp and sparkling - like the inside of an ice crystal.
The silence.
Just me and the pebbles; the only things on the beach those mornings...

Gorgeous photos! Looks like a wonderful time to visit and relax. :) My WW is up here.
Those pictures are beautiful. I especially love the "Dawn" one.
That is absolutely breathe taking, it so makes me want to be there
Lovely photos and post!
I love going to the seaside at that time of year.
So calm and quiet.
Amazing photos, so beautiful! Happy WW!
Lovely pictures, and you're so funny -- Wordless Wednesday and you're all yak yak yak.
I know exactly what that's like. Going to Cape Cod in September / October once the summer crowds have gone home is my absolute favorite.

Gorgeous colours!!
Those are some fabulous photos. They're so evocative, it's like everyone just up and left. Which, I guess, they sort of did. Thanks for sharing it with us. :)
Absolutely gorgeous photos, you can feel the peace and serenity ooozing onto the page, brilliant colors also :)

Absolutely gorgeous photos. I used to go to the Jersey coast once a year, this brought back a lot of fond memories.
Thank you for sharing this group of photos. What I like best was the quietness and peacefulness that I sensed from these shots. Somehow the cold seemed to push me away from it and yet the peacefulness drawn me strongly to it.
oh my...what beautiful photos. I long to live near a beach...
aww...the shore and not a shoebie in sight! beautiful.
love, love, love the beach in winter....I used to go down when I lived in Sydney and watch the stormy wind whipping against the ruff surf. These pics are very nice.
Beautiful! and no truer words were spoken. My husband took me to Ocean City for my 40th birthday - I'm a January baby! Seems crazy but it was only a few hours away and cheap. We were bundled up like Eskimos and yet, it was just as you say - quiet, breathtaking and oh so peaceful. We had an ocean view room and laid in bed watching the sunset - I was overcome with emotion and couldn't take my eyes off it until the darkness came and made it a memory I will cherish forever.
