I'll have a bag a Cheetos with a Welbutrin chaser, please...

I've been feeling down for the past few days. There is no extraneous reason; I'm sure it's my head I'm battling with at the moment. I've been battling my head for quite some time. The last few days it's been winning.

A lot of people don't discuss the state of their head but I've never been one of those. Things happen. Disorders occur. Meds are needed and I've needed them off and on (mostly on) for quite some time.

I've never been able to reconcile why some people feel one drug (or one disorder) is neutral and one drug (or disorder) is worthy of finger pointing.

Anyway. This morning I got up and looked in my freezer for something to thaw for dinner...

and saw this:

That's four containers of ice cream (at least). When you add the microwave french fries, the pizza Texas toast and a whole lot of other stuff I don't have to cook (just nuke) for me that says, Med check, Hello?

Looking back at my blog posts I haven't posted anything home cooked in a while. I can't remember the last meal I really put together.

Put any effort in, you know?

I haven't been eating well either. I've had a few meals consisting entirely of Cheetos and last nights dinner was two kinds of ice cream (pistachio and cherry vanilla).

In March I took a break from therapy. Maybe it's time to go back.

LOL! At least you say it! If we have pain in our joints we go see a doctor, why not if there is unrest in the head???

It's an organ just the same. I've never taken meds but have been in therapy (for long periods) twice now and it always makes feel better. So you go girl! Be well!

Forced druged sleep, it's doing great things for me. Try it, you'll like it.

My head has been a bit off too! Now I want a Weight Watchers frozen candy bar....

Thanks vonlipi - agree, totally.

eloh - you know its funny. When I sleep I get more depressed. If I deprive myself a bit (to a bit more) I can normally get my self out of a funk.

Vanessa - Those ww candy bar ice creams are really good. Sort of a snickers affair, but light :)

I wish you well, my head hasn't been "on" for many years.

At least you had two different kinds of ice cream - that's kind of like a balanced meal, right :)

I battle with OCD tendencies, so I completely understand the head issues. You notice and realize and that's a step in the right direction.

I'm bipolar (diagnosed less than 2 years ago) and have been off and on meds my whole life. I found that it helps me to have others who know me let me know when I seem depressed. The snacking and insomnia are good clues too though.

My whole family is bipolar, including my 2 adopted children. I agree, why can't people with mental illnesses be treated like those with heart conditions or cancer?!

great reality check from the frozen foods! I purged our freezer a few weeks back, had stuff in there from 3 years felt so good, lightened our household load by purging some cupboard overflows and freecycled some kidlet duds, it was like 30 pounds had been lifted off my shoulders, I think what we push to the back of the freezer is like a lesson (mine was chopped vegis for future homemade soups....been in there 3 years, time to go) best intentions should not be suppressed nor emotions nor desires, get to your stove/salad bowl/fondue pot missie and cook up some retro faire with those aprons!
